Bad Science: Quacks, Hacks and Big Pharma Flacks (Ben Goldacre)
Ben Goldacre is British physician, academic and science writer. The target of most of his writings is "bad science" and its negative impacts, how to detect it and how to correct for it.
Goldacre has made a point of exposing quack doctors and nutritionists, bogus credentialing programs, and biased scientific studies,
When I teach about sample sizes, the Placebo effect, the nature and importance of controlled studies, and the hierarchy of evidence (controlled, randomized controlled, blind randomized controlled, etc.), I find myself dipping into Goldacre's books. They're excellent on this, and he's fun to read.
